Product Information

100% pure Peppermint Essential Oil (Menthol Piperita) is widely known for its pleasantly refreshing, crisp and minty-sweet aroma and powerful ability to support a healthy body and mind.

Extracted from the Peppermint plant found in abundance across Asia, leaves are steam distilled to produce a clear-to-yellow oil naturally rich in menthol. In comparison to the cool and herbaceous aroma of our Mentha Arvensis peppermint variety, Peppermint Piperita carries a sweeter and lighter scent many liken to candy canes, beautifully aromatic and invigorative. Behind the scent lies natural properties said to fight colds, bacteria, inflammation and mental fatigue effectively.

The wide-ranging versatile benefits of Peppermint Essential Oil make it a popular oil helpful across almost all aspects of life, from therapeutic uses to household applications.

  • Peppermint Oil is widely known for its decongesting properties, with a natural menthol content that helps relieve symptoms of hay fever, headaches, migraines, colds, flu and blocked sinuses.
  • The antiseptic properties of Peppermint Essential Oil fight vigilantly against bacteria and viruses, reducing inflammation, muscle pain and swelling.
  • Peppermint Oil is said to work wonders for the mind, lifting the mood and calming tempers while instilling focus in people with mental fatigue.
  • Many Peppermint Oil users swear by its ability to combat nausea, with natural antispasmodic properties said to relax the gastric muscles and level unsettled tummies.
  • Another popular use for Peppermint is to repel insects such as mosquitoes, wasps, bees, spiders, or deter unwanted rodents.
  • Its fresh, minty scent and natural antibacterial properties help make Peppermint Oil a popular and effective household cleaning agent.
  • Because of its pleasantly refreshing and sweet aroma, Peppermint Oil is often used as a fragrance in candles and soaps.

How to use Peppermint Essential Oil

  • Diffuse: Add a few drops to an aromatherapy diffuser and let the refreshing scent of Peppermint Oil fill the space, helping support decongestion and mental focus.
  • Massage: Dilute a few drops of Peppermint Oil into a carrier oil or massage oil  to soothe tired, tight and sore muscles.
See topical dilution guide below for safe topical application
  • Migraine Stick: Add 8-10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil to a 15ml roller bottle, filling the remainder with Fractionated Coconut Oil and apply to your forehead, temples and back of the neck to help relieve migraine symptoms.
  • Foot Spa: To help sore, tired feet, add a drop or two of Peppermint Essential Oil to a pool of warm water before soaking your feet for at least fifteen minutes.
  • Insect Repellent: Add 8-10 drops of Peppermint Oil to a 15ml roller bottle and top with Fractionated Coconut Oil to create a natural insect repellent. You can also create an insect repellent spray for your home by adding 10-20 drops to a spray bottle topped with water and a dash of vinegar. Spray the solution around the outside of your home (particularly doors and window frames) to help deter unwelcome pests.
  • Rodent Deterrent: Pour a few drops of Peppermint Essential Oil onto several tissues or cotton buds and place them in the area where rodents are an issue (for example, your roof).
  • Fast Remedy: Add 1-2 drops of Peppermint Oil onto a tissue and inhale at a distance while ensuring the oil does not directly contact your skin. Alternatively, you can smell the oil directly from the bottle.

Note: Due to its high menthol content, Peppermint Essential Oil may crystallise in cooler temperatures. Gently heating your oil bottle in a cup of warm water will return it to its liquid state.

Topical Dilution Guidelines

  • General Use: 1 – 3% dilution (2 – 6 drops per 10ml)
  • Facial Application: 1% dilution (2 drops per 10ml)
