GLYCERINE PALM FREE

Glycerine, also known as Glycerin or Glycerol, is an invaluable vegetable derived natural ingredient. With emollient like properties, which can soften and soothe the skin, it also works as a humectant and assists with retaining moisture in the skin. It is widely used in manufacturing and is commonly used in products such as soaps, cosmetics, lotions & moisturisers, scrubs, hand sanitisers, face masks, hair care products, and various household products.

Glycerine is a very effective moisturiser when used on the skin to hydrate and help ease dry, rough, cracked and irritated skin. It is commonly used to help improve oily skin conditions (such as acne), skin infections, wrinkles, redness and fine lines. Also known for its ability to stimulate our skin cells to rejuvenate them, making it an excellent skin healer, Glycerine can help ease skin complaints such as eczema and psoriasis, and can even help to heal bruises quicker by helping the tissue and cells to repair themselves.

How to use PF Glycerine

Glycerine is a key ingredient in many cosmetic, skincare and personal care products, and whilst you will likely find it listed in most of these related products in your cupboard at home, you can also enjoy the benefits of pure glycerine by making your own natural products. Listed below are some of our favourites:

  • Topically: In its most simple method, dilute 1 part glycerine to 3 parts water (or floral water) and dab onto problem areas of your skin until absorbed. For additional benefits, use your fingers or a guasha tool to massage it into your face.
  • Acne Serum: To aid in acne breakouts, mix ½ tsp Glycerine, 1 tsp Floral Water, and 2 drops Tea Tree, Lemon or Frankincense Essential Oil. Apply to your face before bed, and rinse off in the morning. As with any serum or product applied to the face, take care to avoid your eyes, mouth, ears & other sensitive areas.
  • Exfoliating Scrub: A natural, hydrating body scrub is easy to make at home without any added nasty ingredients. Simply combine ¼ cup glycerine with ¼ cup water or aloe vera juice, and ½ cup fine sugar in a bowl. Apply to your skin in the shower or bath by gently massaging in a circular motion, before washing off.
Optional: You can also add 2-3 drops of Essential Oil to further boost its benefits - try grapefruit or mandarin for their energising properties and ability help to reduce cellulite and fluid retention.
  • Face Mask: For a hydrating face mask that can help to balance oil production and blackhead control, using a non-metalic spoon, mix together 1 tbsp french clay with a few drops of Glycerine and Water. Mix well until a smooth paste is formed (add more water as needed). Apply to your freshly cleansed face and leave for 10-15 minutes or until partially dry. Rinse well with warm water and finish with a facial serum or moisturiser.
Optional: You can also add 1 drop of Essential Oil to further boost its benefits - try lavender, carrot seed or myrrh for their powerful skincare properties.

NOTE: AWO's Glycerine is a pure ingredient, and we recommend it be mixed with other ingredients, or water, prior to applying directly to your face.
