How to use Tallow (Cosmetic Grade)

Below is one of our favourite easy DIY recipes using Tallow (Cosmetic Grade).

• Whipped Tallow Body Butter: This simple body butter combines the nourishing properties of Tallow with the moisturising benefits of Jojoba Oil. It is easy to make and can be used as an everyday moisturiser for dry skin.
  • Ingredients:
    • 100g Tallow (Cosmetic Grade) 
    • 30g Jojoba Oil 
    • 1 tsp Vitamin E Oil  
      Optional:
    • 8 drops Lavender Essential Oil 
    • 4 drops Frankincense Essential Oil 
  • Method:
    • Gently melt the Tallow using a double boiler until completely liquid. 
    • Remove from the heat and stir in the Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E Oil. 
    • Allow the mixture to cool until it starts to thicken. You can place it in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes to speed up the process. 
    • Using an electric hand mixer, whip the mixture for several minutes until light and creamy. 
    • Add the Essential Oils (if using) and whip briefly to combine. 
    • Transfer to a clean jar and allow to set before use.
