Product Information
CASTOR WAX
Highly functional, plant-derived Castor Wax has become a staple in cosmetic and skincare formulations for good reasons.
These smooth white flakes are produced by partially hydrogenating castor oil (derived from the seeds of castor beans), a process that transforms the liquid into a solid and creates a versatile odourless wax valued for its hardness, high melting point, and water resistance – not to mention one abundant in natural skin-loving properties.
Rich in essential fatty acids, proteins, and omega oils, Castor Wax boasts similar benefits as its parent oil. It has a reputation for enhancing skin hydration, reducing wrinkles, and promoting a healthy complexion. Additionally, its semi-occlusive properties lock in moisture, making it an excellent ingredient in moisturising formulas. Castor Wax also serves as a thickening agent, emulsifier, and viscosity controller in cosmetic applications, ensuring smooth textures and long-lasting products. It's a popular ingredient in products requiring stability at room or body temperature, such as lip balms, deodorants, and creams.
When you need an all-natural, vegan-friendly wax ingredient, add these flakes to your skincare and cosmetic creations and start appreciating its multifunctional benefits.
- Rich in essential fatty acids and proteins, Castor Wax hydrates the skin by locking in moisture and improving softness.
- Great for anti-ageing, omega fatty acids and Castor Oil derivatives help promote healthy skin by enhancing elasticity and helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
- The viscosity-controlling and emulsifying properties of Castor Wax improve skin texture, providing a smooth, even application in skincare products.
- The natural anti-inflammatory compounds in Castor Wax help to soothe and calm irritated skin, making it great for skin prone to redness or highly sensitive skin.
- Due to its high melting point and water-repellent properties, Castor Wax helps create durable formulations like long-lasting deodorants and lip balms.
- Thanks to its omega fatty acids, Castor Wax is also beneficial in hair care, helping to nourishing the scalp, strengthening hair follicles, and promote thicker, healthier hair.
